This is the final week for our Lenten and Easter video moments. I hope you you will take a few minutes for this week's VIDEO recorded by First Lady Racelder Grandberry-Trimble, as she shares about West Newton UMC's connections to the children in their community.

First Lady also prays for all children, that not one of them be left behind.

Anonymous Foundation Awards

Metro Ministries, Inc. has been blessed with a financial gift from a Family Foundation who wishes to remain anonymous. We were asked to disburse the funds to United Methodist Churches in the Central District who have active programs that directly serve individuals in their communities.

Metro announced our request for Expressions of Interest a few weeks ago, based on the Foundation's request. The Foundation wanted to ensure their funds went to churches that were addressing needs that either arose from or were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are so excited to announce the following churches as the recipients of this generous gift:

  • Bethel UMC
  • Chapel Hill UMC
  • Christ Indy UMC
  • Franklin Grace UMC
  • Greenwood UMC
  • Irvington UMC
  • North Salem UMC
  • Old Bethel UMC
  • St. Luke's UMC

Congratulations to all of these churches and thank you for the ways in which you serve your neighbors!

And to the Family Foundation, it is an honor to be able to work with you!.

Tomorrow: United Methodist Women

Faith Talks on Gun Violence

faith%20talks.png

This month's UMW Faith Talks webinar is on gun violence and ways to prevent it. While this topic had been planned for some time, it is unfortunaly even more relevant to us here in Indianapolis than it was before last Thursday's mass shooting at the west side Fed-Ex ground facility.

Jennifer R. Farmer will host and interview three women leaders from across the country who are working in their communities and nationally, advocating for public policy to end gun violence in the U.S.

The webinar will be held tomorrow, April 29 at 2:00 pm. REGISTER to join.
